Charley's Website Page

Latest news from Charley for January 2002. We've received the following update from him:

Greetings, peace, and wellness from Northern Virginia! In the first quarter of 1999, while living and working in Heidelberg, Germany, my internist found and properly diagnosed my having a pheochromocytoma.

Although I received adequate and appropriate pre-operative care, the University Surgery Clinic in Heidelberg would not accept my health insurance so, in April 1999, I stopped all medical treatment.

In August 1999, I found and joined your support group. As a result, my web site was created and I was referred to the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, for treatment.

I had two surgeries there in November 1999: the first was an adrenalectomy to remove my right adrenal gland and the attendant pheochromocytoma; the second removed my gall bladder. Both organs and the pheochromocytoma were malignant.

In February 2000, I was transferred and moved from Germany to Northern Virginia. I'm rejoining the support group and reactivating my web site.

Very respectfully, Charley
